My Home Island trip

I always wait for school holiday for relax and enjoying with Family, so,we went the island I spend my Childhood. This is Caby’s first visit to her Mommy’s Home Island.  I visit my extended Family members during my visit. This is a place of good memories for me, and a place of inspiration.

We took speed boat tickets  and the boat driver said  its take 3 hrs to reach . We plan to give surprise to mom and family. we did not inform them that we are coming. Mom and Dad ask several times " are you coming or not"  hehehe. They call huby too ... we answer the phone while the speed boat pulled leave the passengers from their destination different Islands in atoll. After five long hours of smashing against waves and rolling over the sea we finally arrive the harbor. some peoples are gathered to welcome back family members who have also  traveled from Male'. i enjoy my time to captured.

Let me tell you little bit about my beautiful island where i belong . Th. Thimarafushi is in south Central Province. Kolhumadulu Atoll comprises 13 inhabitant islands. Veymando is the Capital. Population  are 2508 above, Thimarafushi is the highest population in the atoll. The island has easily accessible harbor to the jetties. Important infrastructures of the island include 03 mosques, a health centre, one preschool, one primary school and one secondary school, Youth Centre. In addition, the island also has three park and two recreational areas for sports.

Fishing has become their main source of income, large number of Island peoples working in Capital of Maldives Male’. Tuna processing, Farming, Family business is most people doing in the island.

Thimarafushi Airport is dream project for people of Thimarafushi looking forward.  Its include Transit Hotel, Yacht marinas. It does bring revolutionary economic developments to the atoll. Currently now project work is stopped, Cox of Government budget reasons.

 I call mom's mobile while arrive , but mom is not answering the phone, so i through because of pray time. I look around while getting off the boat. No sign of any family members . we carried our luggage and started walk to go home.... OMG , Suddenly My siblings, Their Kids, Mom, Dad, Neighbors, Relatives all of them shouted near from me . I was scared ... all of them appeared ..None of us expected surprise from them. They are hidden inside the Beach hut  that's why i didn't noticed. Anyways I'm really happy :) 

Back to home by walk we all gossip about surprise, Mom Make special dinner for us. I visit  my parents after long time. My parents visit me every 3 months for their medical check up. Mom seems very happy. 

It was such a lovely start to every day with nice breakfast. Today breakfast  must be special , I really love the foods my mom cooked. i am very proud of my mom's cooking. honestly i can discern if the food was cooked by my mom.   After wonderful breakfast  we visited Air port construction site. Its really have fun while ridding the lorry full of peoples.

Before Hiriyanfushi is the small island located near Thimarafushi; locals used the island for picnic. They came by Bokkura, Riya dhoani, and some are access by foot. We spend the day lying in the clear water, cooking, playing in the island.  

Now Look at the Difference

 Now Today Scene is change, for a wonderful reason. Now the island is added reclamation of 31 hectares of land for the construction of the Thimarafushi Airport. I was so exited while off the lorry.  Wow”... I can’t believe it … It’s totally change.

We tired walk in the hot afternoon on the site.  I enjoy myself with camera. Moms arrange Cold power gold tin with snack for all of us. We took a rest under the palm trees and waiting for the lorry. 

Time to go... Hay wait for me

Mom arrange a picnic trip to the nearby island Kanimeedhoo. Many locals and tourists alike take trips to this island to picnic on the beach. 15 minute by journey across the pristine ocean to arrive at the island. There was no jetty, so we had to precariously jump off the side into the clear warm water. There are a small group of farmers who live here live peacefully, growing watermelon, sugar cane and coconuts, Chili ect.. They look after the island and its visitors. Mom and our neighbors who visit with us brought Fresh chilies, nut, and leaves from farmers. Mom said they are selling lowest price those who visited the island.

 The sandy beaches with perfect white sand lined with palm trees and a glistening Cobalt Blue Ocean is what you can seen every where in Maldives. I came here so many times before I Move on Male.

After supper cool lunch, all started enjoying, I love nature, so, I went see the sand banks.  First time I off my camera and enjoy my self with Caby. So, huby captured it for me for a life time memory.

I believe spending quality time with our children is extremely important for their development and happiness. Allow sometimes yourself to have childlike fun and let our children know that we love and care for them.  So, find time in your busier life and spend with your kids that you both can enjoy, When you look back, you will be thankful for the memories like i do :)

Last day of the trip. i wake early in the morning , in the afternoon we are leaving to Male'. Dad is in the shop while me and caby came out the house. Dad offer caby tin of rice and said let's go feed the doves.

I went look mom's farm with Caby.  My mom is an inspiring  personality for me always and will be. Mom love Farming very much but big challenge she facing is the space problem. There is no land space for farmers in our island. She stared her farming little business None living neighbor's house's. She ask them and started her work. Her goal is to get fresh Vegetable for her family daily meals and earn money. She sell , Green Beans, Egg plant, Tomatoes, Green leaves, Cucumber, Lemon, Chills, water melons, Pumpkins , ect... for the island people in her shop. she want wide her business and market in to capital.

We came back to home evening after fun trip, i love family gathering its make me happy.
I love to say thank you all my neighbors, who are just wonderful. Thank you very much for your involvement for our short visit.you peoples appearance make our trip memorable.
