Day 9: Colombo – Leisure World - Male'

We awake to a quiet but clear sound on the roof of our hotel room. At first we hear sounds like a clatter but as we listen more it is apparent that there is some sort of creature on the roof. Hubby said its sound like a cat on the roof top.

Last day of our trip … its end so quick Uh!!!! we went out after breakfast . Santha is planning some thing for us. And while we’re sad to say goodbye to Santha for a couple of days. He greets us all warmly, actively engages with the kids, quickly learning their names and gaining their trust.

Daddy n Kids

Our day first stop was family amusement water park in the Avissawella . Leisure World theme Park is exciting amusement park in Sri Lanka. It’s developed in the world-class recreational site. Well trained operators, instructors, pool attendants and life guards are on hand to provide a totally enjoyable and safe experience.

Not to be miss the Wave Pool, the only pool in Sri Lanka to feature a wave machine creating a very close approximation to actual ocean waves. Ninno enjoy a lot in the wave pool . large number of locals and foreigners are there enjoying there week end.

We had Sri lankan Spicy lunch in the restaurant . you can get variety of food and Fresh juicy, Ice cream in the restaurants. We enjoy our half day .

Santha Came back to the park to take with us in the evening. Kids seem so tried, on the way to hotel Santha took us to meet his Family. we had a pure tasty cup of tea with yummy! biscuits. after tea Santha introduce his family and saw us his new home building site.

Our trip, we came back to hotel around 1900hrs and started our packing. The flight was at 2200Hrs and we started to the airport by 2000Hrs.

It’s such a wonderful trip, but it was over really quick and we were back in Male’ on 03rd January 2012 night. We had a great time in Sri Lanka and it was an enriching experience to get a peek into their culture and life. Thank you very much For all who helped us to our trip memorable and the great Hospitality.

Day 8 : Colombo

Good Morning Colombo!!! No need to wake up so early no need to hurry. we took a good rest . after breakfast kids went swimming pool with Daddy. Afternoon we went half day shopping in the City.

Full Moon Garden Hotel is a 3 star hotel in Colombo near Bandaranaike international air port. Front office staffs are very friendly and helpful. Mostly Waiter’s and room boy is very attentive to us. The captain of the hotel is so friendly to kids. Room boy make up our room every night when we back to hotel. He decorative colorful flower with my daughter’s soft toys. Really my kids love it.

Colombo is the commercial capital of Sri lanka. Sri Lanka has a number of modern shopping malls. I went Crescat Boulevard, Liberty Plaza, House of Fashion, But Odel is the best one for me with great interiors. Offers brand-name clothing at great prices and has everything you need in one shop. For latest and most fashionable trends in the country Popular with both foreigners and locals mostly it’s oriented by foreigners.

You can get clothing, perfumes, shoes, sporting or home accessories, books, music, stationery, ect… lots I really enjoy to buying kids stuff. My Miss Magic first time visits the shopping Mall she is behaving so nicely, I was surprised. She put the things she likes in the shopping basket. we miss Ninno while we are shopping.

after the shopping we went KFC in Majestic City shopping Mall. Santha Can't come with us, cox of the van parking points security reason. we reach Hotel around 2100 hrs.

I like the restaurant area is around the Swimming pool and looks really nice. Here night life is little bit different; u can see the number of locals and their family visit and having dinner at pool side. People are enjoying their drinks with billiards. Others are sitting with their laptops and browsing internet. All around is look like a magical.

Day 7 : Tissamaharama - Colombo

We check out the hotel after breakfast. On the way to Colombo our first stop was Tissa Lake side for boat ridding.

Tissamaharama is a town in south-eastern Sri Lanka. It used to be the capital of the Sinhalese Kingdom of Ruhuna as early as the 3rd century B.C. Only few buildings from that period can still be seen today. The large artificial Tissa Wewa Lake, which was a part of a sophisticated irrigation system, also dates from that time. Today, the town mainly serves as a starting point for visits to Yala National Park and Kataragama.

Time to Bye Tissamaharama

Elephants are commonly seen along the roadside in Yala.The route did however take us through a national Park so we were able to see Elephants roaming the plains but they were also wise to the roadside kiosks selling fruit. At almost every stall there was an Elephant standing within the park but opposite the stall waiting for local people to buy them water melons or bananas.
